A humpback whale moved closer and closer to a fishing boat before slamming into the vessel in an incredible encounter caught on video. Hyde said the boat was turned off so the propeller wouldn’t hurt the whale, while the video captured the moment of impact. The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society says boaters should stay at least 300 feet away from a whale and said Hyde did everything right.
