A heated mayoral race in Jackson Township, New Jersey has taken a disturbing turn. Mayor Jennifer Kuhn reports receiving a series of vulgar and threatening voicemails. Police say they are investigating the messages and have increased their presence around Town Hall, particularly during council meetings. Kuhn’s opponent, Elliott Shem-Tov, condemned the threats and urged voters to make their voices heard at the ballot box instead. Authorities say some of the messages could violate harassment or terroristic threat laws.
